1 jan 1985 ano - Faith in the City

Descrição:

The Church of England and the Tory government had some conflicts in beliefs during Thatcher's period.

After the Falklands war, the Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie refused to celebrate claiming "people are mourning on both sides of this conflict". Dean of St Paul also condemned the war saying the Argentina soldiers were Christian too.

However the most notable political conflict happened with the Archbishop of Canterbury's commission of the report "Faith in the City". This report explored the growing unemployment, lack of education and racism in urban areas. The problems were both spiritual and political calling for the help of both the Church and the government.

The report was met with controversy with the Tories passing the report off as Communist and Marxist taking over the Anglian church
