Barista so worried she forces food on him. "How long since you've eaten?" "What? Uh.." Christ. "At work, I think?" "Whenever that was. You get a sandwich. No coffee." Describe sandwich. "Christ. Well, OK, but let me pay, then." "Did you even remember to bring money?" I don't dare answer till I look in my wallet. Describe the money here. It's in there. "Of course I did. What kind of question is that?" She throws in a glass of tap water. "Sleep. What can I do for you?" I stare and someone starts talking behind me. I realize she's taking the next order, and I slink off with my sandwich. The coffee is no problem since I have NoDoz. I take three and thank her silently for the water.
