After the attacks on the twin towers on 9/11/01 George Bush vowed to rebuild them for the country. Due to disputes over money and security only one tower was rebuilt, but it was incredibly safe. The new tower had blast-resistant steel and concrete internal structure, polymer-reinforced glass, chemical and biological filters, widened stairs and a more thorough sprinkler system all making sure nothing so catastrophic could happen to this building. The new trade center is the fourth tallest building in the world designed by Owings and Merrill who also designed the tallest building in the world in Dubai. The rebuilding of this historical landmark showed growth and determination from the country.
