This earthquake was the strongest earthquake that ever struck Santiago. The earthquake damaged many buildings like a church, homes and business. Santiago is located in Chili. Some days after the earthquake there were heavy rains which made the problems of sanitation worst. over a few weeks about 2,000 people died from "chabalongo", the name then used for typhus.
