AM: The Los Angeles Aqueduct project was initiated by the city's water superintendent, William Mulholland, to address the growing water needs of Los Angeles. Construction began in 1905. Federal law prohibited the City from selling outside the City limits so different communities voted to be included in the city such as San Fernando and Lankershim.
