Before the war, everything was about the Old West & Cowboys. After the war, things shift to darker stories (w/ MCs with scars and disfigurement) that question morality and the ugly side of humanity. ex. The Great Gatsby,

The Lost Generation = WW1 generation, 17-19 when war ends. The generation is struggling to return to normalcy and struggling to understand humanity and morality.

Harding wins presidency by promising a “Return to Normalcy.”
