On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers and World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. This relates to Martin Luther King Jr. because ever since this event there has been a stigma in America against all Muslims and people from the Middle East. Martin Luther King jr. believed no one should be judged for the color of their skin tone or where they come from. To not judge anyone by the sins of their fathers or community.
