The fourth ecumenical council convened by Emepror Marcian, the goal of this assembly was to reaffirm the teachings of the Council of Ephesus against the heretics Eutyches and Nestroius, who held heretical beliefs about Christ's true nature(s). Began on Oct. 8th and ended Nov. 1st, 451.
