7 nov 1973 ano - War Powers Act
Descrição:
One effect of the Vietnam War was the War Powers Act of 1973. Due to the money and lives lost, which resulted in the United States' loss, the Vietnam War was seen as a catastrophic disaster. Many blamed Lyndon B. Johnson for beginning the war in the first place because he had too much power and that it was needless. As a result, the 1973 War Powers Act was passed by Congress.
The president's authority and capacity to lead the country into battle were effectively constrained by this. This was very important since the president was unable to take any necessary action to initiate a war. This would aid in preventing future wars that were sparked by the presidents' rage or rash choices.
