On May 10th, 1933, the nazis publicly burned all books that they claimed to be “Un-german”. Books that were considered unsuitable where books written or published by Jewish, liberal and leftist writers and the Hebrew bible. The bonfires stood as a powerful symbol of intolerance and censorship.
