In the year of 1903 the Wright brothers carried out the first heavier than air flight. Orville and Wilbur created an powered the gasoline-powered biplane, which was driven by a set of propellers for a total of 12 seconds, reaching a flight distance of over 120 feet in its first flight. This inspired hundreds of aviators to pursue their dreams and eventually create the huge flight machines we use constantly and rely on to connect us around the globe. The plane used an extremely simple design with an almost mesh wood frame that was designed to be thin and light.
