-Cubans were forced to leave Cuba by their leader Castro.

-This involved the US because soon after the US took those exiles to the Us and trained them. This hurt the USSR because the US planned on invading Cuba with these new trained Cubans and their military. This was part of the Cold War because now some Cubans are mad over communists and could allie with the US against their own country in the long run.
