1 jan 1525 ano - The Inka dies
Descrição:
When Huayna Capac (the leader of the Inca empire) heard that there was an epidemic in Cuzco (likely smallpox or another Spanish-brought disease), he set off there to consult with religious leaders and try to avert the problem. However, on his way there, his army got hit with a disease and he fell ill. Not long later, after arriving back in Cuzco, he was told that he was likely to die. As his eldest son had also died of smallpox, he named his two sons (Atahualpa and Huáscar) as his heirs. Huáscar was the more legitimate heir (born of incest), but Atahualpa was his favourite son and widely popular amongst the Incas. Atahualpa was to take the North and Huascar was to take the South.
