16 out 1962 ano - Cuban missile crisis
Descrição:
The Cuban missile crisis was a conflict between the USA and the USSR over missiles in Cuba . The island of Cuba was lead by Fidel Castro, who the US tried to murder him multiple times as well as sabotaging the country. When Cuba was starting to distance itself from the USSR, the Soviets agreed to place nuclear missiles on the island to deter the US from future invasions. However, these missiles were only a few miles away from Florida, and the Americans took it as a serious threat to national security. It was the closest the US and the USSR ever got to a direct war, and was also the closest the world has ever been to a nuclear war. The USSR eventually withdrew the missiles from Cuba, and in exchange the US withdrew their missiles in Turkey.
