The festival was held in Bethel, New York which was a concert based on music and other events. The music expressed that day spoke against the war in Vietnam. The festival was more of a personal rebellion to speak against the war. That day, Pete Townshend of The Who threw radical political organizer Abbie Hoffman off the stage.
