16 jul 1969 ano - USA Moon Landing

Descrição:

NASA's feat of putting humans on the Moon was a remarkable achievement of science and engineering, however, there was also an aspect of global politics involved. The race to the moon between the Soviet Union and the United States was one example of the two governments trying to show their superiority over one another. The two countries were competing in military power, sports, culture, and technology. The race to the Moon was front and center in the competition of technology. Whichever country was able to put astronauts on the moon first was declared superior. On July 16, 1969, Neil Armstrong of the United States stepped foot on the Moon winning the race for his home country.
