In 43 AC, Aegon the Uncrowned amassed a force to seize his throne from his uncle, Maegor, but he was an inexperienced commander at 17 and his forces were surrounded and collapsed upon by several smaller forces. Once Maegor, on the back of Balerion the Black Dread, killed Aegon on his much smaller dragon, Quicksilver, Aegon's forces fled. Maegor would bear the title of kinslayer following this battle.
