The great depression began in the United States in 1929 and later on spread worldwide. It was considered to be the longest and most severe down turn in modern history.
The Great Depression was marked by steep declines in industrial production and even deflation in prices. Everyone was distraught with banking panics and sharp increases with poverty and homelessness.
The great depression caused all stock markets to crash, the collapse of world trade, government policies changed immensely, bank failures and panics and the fail of money supply. Because of all the failures and in crease in poverty, the U.S economy shrunk by a third from the beginning of the Great Depression. The employment rate reached a peak of 25% in 1933. The consumer prices fell 25% aswell.
