On February 26, 1764, John Boyle wrote about another crisis—smallpox: “…‘tis feared by many that it will be [impractical] to prevent its spreading thro’ the Town.”
Paul Revere’s family was one of seven afflicted families in Boston’s North End. Though his family survived, Revere’s income from his previously thriving silver shop dropped from £102 in 1764 to £60 in 1765. (NPS,gov)
