For ≥ 2cm circumferential BE (clinically relevant): sensitivity = 90.0%, specificity = 93.5% Conclusion: procedure is safe; patients find it acceptable; lab results are promising.

Participants: 504 patients aged 50-70 years old with previous prescription for an acid suppressant.
Method: Cytosponge compared with gastroscopy
Data collection time: May 2008 to December 2009
Limitations: most participants reported low level of anxiety before the test
