10 jan 1776 ano - Common Sense by Thomas Paine

Descrição:

A pamphlet that was published in Philadelphia in January 1776. Its main aim was to convince more people from the middle colonies that independence was necessary. Paine called King George “the Pharaoh of England” and “the Royal Brute of Great Britain.” He also attacked monarchy and aristocracy, and favored a new Republican government. Paine’s blatant disrespect for his motherland shows the Patriots’ extremism, and will increase tensions between England and the colonies. If Britain retaliates with more taxes, or if the colonists try and escalate by tightening nonimportation and nonexportation, my livelihood could be threatened. This pamphlet is detrimental to my business
