Boston’s Sons of Liberty threw 342 chests of East India Company tea into Boston harbor rather than allow them to be landed and pay the hated tea duty. Resulted in the Coercive Acts, which ended Massachusetts self-government and closed Bostonian ports. Although I agree that the Tea Act is too restrictive, Patriots have no sense of British loyalty. Our country must pay off its debts, and we must make sacrifices for it. These sacrifices do not threaten our liberty. Because of the Tea Party, trade has stopped and my business is paralyzed. I place the blame for the Coercive Acts on the Patriots, not on Parliament.
