15 dez 1791 ano - Bill of Rights
Descrição:
10 of James Madison's proposed amendments which is now known as the “Bill of Rights” were ratified on this day. The bill of rights states the rights for Americans in regards to their government. It is supposed to ensure values and civil rights such as freedom of speech, press, and religion. However it has struggled greatly to enforce and ensure the democratic values that it was supposed to. While some of these rights such as, “the right to bear arms”, or “ government cannot do an unreasonable search and seizure of an individual or private property” are oftentimes difficult to enforce within the law. They are constantly violated day after day with no immediate action taken from the government, even though almost every American is advocating for change. Therefore America continues to not be a democracy especially when they aren't willing to attempt to resolve the pressing issues and inequality that lay within our very own countries so called democracy.
