There has been much talk already about Johnny Depp taking on American Indian Tonto in the modern day remake of the 1950's classic The Lone Ranger.

But as the latest trailer for the Disney film shows the actor has managed to develop the somewhat tricky character to play.

Rather than being a stereotypical sidekick Tonto appears to have taken on the role of mentor to Armie Hammer’s ranger in what looks set to be an action-packed film full of explosions, shoot outs and speeding locomotives.
