It was a war between the French and the British or territory/land in the New world. The French wanted to expand south and the British wanted to expand west and they wanted the same land and started fighting for it. The French were winning at first but in the end the British won. This was an important event because it signified that the British were the main ones with the most land in the New world and solidified their power/control over land.
