Supreme Court rules that African Americans are not citizens, they are property and therefore have no say in laws and cannot sue in the federal court
Court ruled that the Founding Fathers in the Constitution never wanted African Americans to have the protection of citizenship
Declared the Missouri Compromise as unconstitutional because it didn't protect the citizens property (slaves) as they travelled north
