The Fundraising Dinner for the Re-election of Senator Henry Shaw was hosted by Senator Henry Shaw Junior on the evening of 6 December, 1926, at the New York City Hall, to raise money for his Senate re-election campaign. A white-tie affair, it was attended by hundreds of people, the crème de la crème of New York No-Maj society.

During a period where Henry Shaw was speaking, it is said that an Obscurus that was later responsible for further attacks and breaches in the Statute of Secrecy killed him.
