On Sept. 3rd 1939 America with it's new technology and industrial might were able to counter the German U-Boats. By the end of 1943, the Allies were able to build more ships than the germans could sink and destroyed more U-Boats than the Germans could build. while this lasted the entire war, this was a turning point for the allies because we were able to compete against the German U-Boats.
