The Metacom War started because the Wampanoag wanted to fight back against the white colonist. The Wampanoag wanted the white colonist to stop intruding in on their land and to stop forcing them to convert to Christianity. While the Wampanoag were attacking the colonist, the settlers didn't do anything to stop the attacks. Even though the Wampanoag tride attacked first, they still lost at the end because a lot of Wampanoag died. This was the end of the long time resistance of the Native Americans.
