The Casablanca Conference, 1943. The Casablanca Conference was a meeting between U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the city of Casablanca, Morocco that took place from January 14–24, 1943. This is significant because Churchill convinced Roosevelt to postpone the
opening of a western front until 1944, while announcing that only the unconditional surrender of the Axis Powers would bring an
end to the war.
