He is the creator of the McGregor Theory X and Theory Y approach. He was very heaviliy influenced by The Hawthorne Studies and Maslow's theory. His publication "The Human Side of Enterprise" shared his ideas with individuals in the field. It has proven to be a trailblazer in management, as there are many monumental success stories that use this type of management. For example, Betsy Holden, CEO of Kraft Foods Inc., uses a lot of Theory Y's management approach.
