Drafted around 1798 and 1799, the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions were political statements from Kentucky and Virginia legislatures that believed the Alien and Sedation Acts were "unconstitutional". The Alien and Sedation Acts were four bills that made it harder for an immigrant to become a citizen, allowed the president the right to deport and imprison non-citizens who seemed dangerous or were from a dangerous country.
