303 Dakota men are tried at a military court and convicted of raping and murdering civilians. Current president, Abraham Lincoln is urged to review the convictions and relives 264 Dakota of their convictions. The remaining 39 are sentenced to death. Right before the hanging one more many is relieved of his sentence. 38 men are hung in Mankato making the largest ever mass execution in US history.
