A call for a nation wide strike was made in order to obtain 8 hour work days. There was a group of 3,000 people and a bomb was thrown into the crowd when police entered. 8 people were arrested (7 being anarchists and 1 being a member of the Knights of Labor). This strike caused the Knights of Labor to lose many members and lots of support.
