1 jan 1794 ano - Erasmus Darwin's Zoonomia heralds evolution (1794)
Descrição:
Charles Darwin's grandfather, a flamboyant physician, botanist, and poet, toys with a daring idea. In Zoonomia, written almost entirely in rhymed couplets, he asks, "Would it be too bold to imagine...that all warm-blooded animals have ariisen from one-living fillament?" While not widely accepted, evolution (then called "transmutation") is widely discussed by British intellectuals in the late 18th century.
