Descrição:
Mysterium Cosmographicum
Platonism, Pythagoreanism, harmony of the spheres, elipses (in a later work)
non-teleological motion (that is, without a fixed and absolute goal). Like attracts like, so two stones in distant space will attract each other and not go out looking for the earth. This enables a non-geocentric cosmology, that is with the earth not at a fixed center. Terrestrial objects fall to the ground, not because they aspire to the center of the universe as in Aristotle, but simply because the earth (as do the rocks) exerts a force of attraction. (This is a substantial move, possibly, from common sense, throws you into limbo, standing not on (the) solid ground, but on a big flying rock. Breaks the barrier between heaven and earth? There is space in which we are all moving, except, say, fro the sun?)
Mother accused of witchcraft, he had to defend her.
