30 set 1938 ano - Munich Agreement Signed
Descrição:
The Munich Agreement, also known as the Munich Pact, was a settlement between Germany, France, Italy, and Britain that allowed Germany to annex the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia. The Czechs were allied with France and believed that the French would not allow Germany to occupy Sudetenland, but this was not the case. Before the agreement, Hitler had already been making plans to invade Czechoslovakia, and, though they were anxious, France and Britain were going to avoid military action at any cost. Neville Chamberlain (the British prime minister) and Hitler signed a paper declaring they would resolve differences through consultation to assure peace, but his policies were violated later on and this agreement would end up signifying the uselessness of trying to appease totalitarian states. However, this did give Allies time to build up their military and prepare for a war that no one wanted.
