Under the Obama administration, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals was put into place. This act allowed illegal child immigrants who had come to the US to go through a process to become eligible for a work visa. This act was a response to the South American refugees who were flooding into the nation at the time so the US could get more documented workers.
