When the price of bread rose sharply, people took to the streets and wrecked property in order to demand that the prices be lowered to their original forms. This set the ball in motion for a very outspoken working-class with various needs to produce labor. It would also lead to the creation of labor unions and organized demonstrations for a more impactful effect.
