Descrição:
Housing segregation was still happening, despite the laws against segregation. Because of this, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference launched a campaign to use nonviolent tactics to target discriminatory housing and hiring practices in Chicago, Illinois. As part of the campaign, he and other SCLC leaders worked with local activists to organize marches in all-white neighborhoods. Marchers were frequently met with bottles, bricks, and rocks. The Chicago Campaign resulted in promise of housing changes, but Chicago failed to do so.
