Welcomed by Prince Raymond, the uncle of his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Raymond had promised Antioch to Manuel should Aleppo be taken. Aimed to use Louis' army to take Aleppo without Manuel and so break free. Would be disappointed.
Louis did not want to stay and help, had a desire to go to Jerusalem and did not want Edessa so did not need Aleppo - did not want to increase Raymond and Manuel's power over him.
