For most viewers, this is the first big event that impacts their emotional connection with Jesse. Jesse gets evicted from his house by his parents, who are actually the lawful owners of the property. Because of this, Jesse is put in a lot of struggle and it feels like he has nowhere to go and nothing to his name. Due to Jesse's youthfulness, it is easy as a viewer to feel sympathy for him, even though he does a lot of bad things. On top of this, the brilliant acting in the show does a great job of portraying Jesse in a weak and emotional state. All of this comes together to create a heavy feeling of emotion toward Jesse. Also during this time, Skyler begins to suspect that Walt is doing something that she isn't aware of, and calls his bluff. While viewers want Skyler to figure out what is really going on in Walt's life, they also don't want her to learn the truth at the risk of it breaking apart the family.
