18 h 21 set 4004 ano antes da era comum - Why 4004 BC!

Descrição:

Let it be known that my studies of chronology involve, first of all, the study of scripture, and then the studies of many other peoples work. I do not profess to 're-invent the wheel' but merely to study the chronological masters' work, their conclusions and their stated reasons for arriving at where they did. I then apply the knowledge and logic of scriptures (the inspired Word of Yahweh) and test the theories and conclusions of those who have been dedicated enough, sincere enough and brave enough to put their work into writing.

Therefore my conclusions are referenced from a great variety of scholars, whilst using the maxim that 'if it contradicts scriptures then it must be incorrect' and I continue my search.

So why 4004 BC?

I will quote from the work of Dr, Floyd Nolan Jones in his work "The Chronology of the Old Testament" p27 as it is expressed rather well.

"The reason that such a seemingly ridiculous date (as that proposed by Ussher of 6:00pm October 23, 4004 BC) may be assigned to Creation is not only biblically sound, but needs but the simplest forthright logic.

Until God told the Jews to change their calendar at the time of the Exodus, the beginning of their year had been in the Autumn. (Ex 12/2; 13/4; cp.9/31 and 23/15). The month which they designate 'Tishri' September-October) had been their first month, whereas 'Abib' (Hebrew meaning 'first ear of ripe grain', March-April) had been their seventh month. The current arrangement of the Jewish calendar, with its civil year beginning in Tishri and it religious calendar beginning in Nissan, is a vestigial reminder finding its roots in the God-given decree.

The question that focuses upon the solution is: before God told the Hebrews to alter their calendar so that their seventh month would become their first month, why had these people of God chosen the fall (Autumn) for the beginning of the year? Logic demands that they were merely continuing that which had been handed down as tradition from generation to generation from the time of Adam.

As proof of such a propensity among these people, attention is called to the fact that the first chapter of Genesis records 'the evening and the morning were the first day ... the evening and the morning were the second day', etc. In point of fact, the Jews still begin their 24-hour-day at evening, having obviously obtained the idea from the Creation account and continued it down through the centuries. Therefore the Creation occurred at eventide (about 6:00pm) near October 1 in 4004BC.

From using similar logic and using the Julian calendar, Ussher selected the first Sunday (the Biblical first day of the week) after the Autumnal equinox. As Julian leap year rules do not drop 3 days every 400 years, the seasons drift. This is why Ussher has the autumnal equinox on October 23 for 4004BC.

(Footnote: Such computations assume that the period of the sun and moon remained constant since Creation. No allowance was made for the 'long day of Joshua', etc., as eclipse studies show that no time was lost. Rather, a miraculous alteration in the normal day occurred so that there was no change in the predictable motion and harmony of the heavenly bodies. As much time was subtracted from the night as was added to the daylight period, thus maintaining the integrity of the 24 hour day).

October 23 is the correct Julian date; however the modern Gregorian date is September 21. This was Ussher's rationale, and it indicates the soundness and clarity of his thought."

Dr. Jones continues on the commentary by stating how important it is to have sound foundations to base many other related components on, with which I firmly concur.
Many time periods occurring throughout the Old Testament are very dependant on correct foundations.
However, not only this, but these same time periods also rely on each other as well as affirming, in reverse, the year of Creation. They must all be considered as a 'whole picture' and they themselves confirm the picture of Yahweh.

These include but are not exclusive of:
*1656 years from Creation to the Flood
*427 years from the Flood to Abram 75 yrs
*430 yrs from Abrams entrance into Canaan to the Exodus
*479yrs (480th year) from the Exodus to when Solomon began building the Temple
*300yr period of Jephthah's statement
* 70 week (490yr) prophecy of Dan 9

The above is what I have labelled "Gods Signature's", with many, many, many other times throughout the OT having Gods Initials scrawled over it.

Now, having said all the above, the following simple maths can be applied for those needing a simple solution.

1. The chronology supplied for us in easy detail in Genesis chapter 5-12 shows us that Abram enters Canaan 2083 years after Creation at age 75.
2. We can then simply add another 430 yrs from when Abram left Canaan to the Exodus ( Gen 12/10; Ex 12/40; Gal 3/17)
3. Following on is another 479 yrs (480th year) from Exodus to Start of the temple (1 Kings 16/1)
3. Start of the Temple to the Division of the Kingdom = 37 yrs (1 Kings 11/42; 6/1, 37-38)
4. Division of the Kingdom to the Destruction of Jerusalem was 389 years (in the 390th yr)

Result:
* 0-2083 = 2083
* 2083 + 430 = 2513
* 2513 + 479 = 2992
* 2992 + 37 = 3029
* 3029 + 389 = 3418

So, the Kingdom of Judah fell to the Babylonians in 586 BC.

586 + 3418 = 4004 BC.
That left James Ussher to conclude on the month and day (detailed above).

Conclusion:
Gods word is for the 'simple' as well as for the 'wise'. (Psalms)
I believe that God provides the answers for everything in his written word and all we need to do is diligently look for the information and clues He provides for us in faith, using the clear logic He has bestowed us with. We need to use the tools God has provided us and not approach His Word with preconceived ideas and continue to search. God will provide...
