In a departure from his usual habit of arriving the evening prior to a film festival appearance, Johnny Depp and his team appear to have departed France for Barcelona a week before. This may have been due to the COVID restrictions in Spain, with reports from the time suggesting the Catalonia region would be going into lockdown and restrictions upon travel extending into Barcelona.

Regardless of any local restrictions, it was not unknown for travel to any location to require a week or more in quarantine with frequent testing prior to being allowed into the country.
