General Allenby takes Jerusalem for Great Britain. Date is same as given in Haggai 2:18. The reader is told to consider this date twice, which means it has very special significance.

I believe this date is a hidden marker for the beginning of a 120-year warning for mankind, before the End of the Age, outlined in Psalm 90. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be again (Matt. 24:37; Gen. 6:3).

As it was with Noah, those in Jesus' time would not know when the end was coming (Matt. 24:36), but as the end approached, more and more information would be revealed (Dan. 12:4).

Noah was first given a 120-year warning (Gen. 6:3). Then as the time of the flood came close, a seven-day warning (Gen. 7:4), and then finally the hour, as God shut him and his family into the ark (Gen. 7:16).
