The declaration of Mexican independence from Spain at the conclusion of the Mexican War of Independence. The Treaty is the first document in which Spanish and Mexican officials accept the liberty of what will become the First Mexican Empire. It cedes all lands previously held by Spain in Central and North America to Mexico.
