In 1919, a black teenager was stoned at a beach for trespassing a segregated beach. He was stoned which led to his drowning and led to a riot after authorities refused to lock up the culprits. A week went by with black and white gangs going after each other resulting in the death of 15 whites and 23 blacks. This led to many issues on segregation to be reconsidered.
