Some ways that Horace Mann changed education for the better are; he named education as "the great equalizer". Because everyone should be able to get it. He also established the first Board of Education in the U.S.

Thomas Gallaudet:
Gallaudet reformed education of the handicapped. He set up a school for the deaf in Connecticut.
