In 1920, Harding won by a landslide, getting 61% of the popular vote. Harding's tactics to win was by reminding people of Wilson bringing America into war, and also said that he wanted to bring things back to normal. His first order of business was cutting federal spending and persuading congress to cut taxes. He helped the economy recover from the postwar deprression and unemployment fell from 12% to 3%.
