Was a naval and land battle, during the American Civil war when confederate forces attacked and banned occupying union troops from Galveston. 300 Confederates were led by General Macgruder recaptured the port of Galveston. Confederates used "cotton clads" to defeat the Union ships. Was fought on Galveston Bay.
